Rawls Exam

Here's a link to the last Midterm of the semester (sniff...)

It's due no later than 1 p.m. on May 26 (Thursday) in my office, PS-117.

If you want to turn the exam in early, feel free. If I'm not in my office, slip your exam under my office door AND send me an email with an electronic copy of the exam attached. Make sure that you hear back from me by Thursday verifying that I got your exam; if you haven't head back from me, contact me right away to make sure you get me your exam on time.

Let me know if you have any questions while you're working on the exam.

Good luck; have fun!

  1. I believe that in order to make a decision, we have to know the persons stage of anorexic nervosa. For example, in the situation of a patient with severe anorexic nervosa. Will it be worth to try to "fed" this person against his will in order to save his/her life. What are the chances that this person will survive.

Second, do they have the necessary resources to pay for treatment in case they agree to be "fed". These treatment takes time and cost money.Who will be taking care of this patient? those are key factors that need to be addressed before a descion is made.

Last, in these such cases the default rule should be according to doctors desicion. They will probably know whats best for these patients. From there, then the familiy's patient or the patient itself can make thier own desicion.
